Cristian's father died of a liver disease in 2003 leaving his mother an unemployed widow to take care of her 4 children. The Romanian welfare system only offered about $8 per month per child, barely enough for their daily bread.

Cristian's mom was pregnant with him when she was beaten severely by her husband. She told us she is thankful to God that her son was born healthy.

Cristian is a year behind in school because his mother didn't have money to send him to kindergarten.

Cristian is a very curious boy and fun loving boy. At our summer Family Camp, he played in the wet sandbanks of a creek until his feet were numb from the cold water, trying to build a sand dam.
